I started out today visiting the Tennessee Valley Railroad and Museum. I rode the train but unfortunately I happened to hit the area on a day when their steam locomotive was on a longer excursion journey and they had a diesel running instead. Still it was a good way to start out the day.
After the train I leisurely made my way through the cumberlands on secondary roads up to Nashville. I got a real upgrade today in Best Western just a few blocks from Opryland (this one has three phones so if one is broken, no big deal). Checking in by 6:00 I went down and got a ticket for tonight's show then came back to the hotel to relax a bit then drove back down (the drive is five minutes from my hotel on Music Valley Road, finding parking can take a while though).
I'm now working on quite a souvenier t-shirt collection. I guess that's my thing to collect. Something practical, unlike knick knacks that usually end up getting stuffed in a box in the attic.

- 11:30-12:00 Jeannie Seely; Billy Walker; Dan Seals
The was some mighty fine musicianship displayed tonight. I especially enjoy hearing the pedal steel guitar in the hands of skilled performers. Rhonda Vincent really impressed me. She's going on my CD purchase list. Right there at the top, in fact. Yeah, I like good music. Country, punk rock, whatever ... :-)
